So, Thursday nights - Humph and I started pottery class.

There are a few things to remember about starting anything afresh:

• Energy and hope are high. It's an exciting time - your potential in a new subject is endless.
• The first things you make in a new medium will likely be rubbish ... so get on and make those precious crap things. Only after these are gone may the great stuff emerge.
• Starting the adventure is the hardest thing. The journey may then begin - and this is the prize!
